I am interested in geological and hydrogeological studies, climate change, natural hazards and environmental sciences. My research areas of interest are assessment of hydrogeochemistry, groundwater potential; impacts of urbanization on groundwater resources; effects of climate change on water quality degradation; surface and groundwater interactions; saline water intrusion in coastal aquifers.
Graduate Research Assistant: From 2013 to 2015: Joint collaborative research project among the Department of Geology, DU; Department of Earth Sciences, University College London (UCL) and the British Geological Survey (BGS). Project title: Groundwater Resources in the Indo-Gangetic Basin: Resilience to Climate Change and Abstraction. From April 2015 to June 2015: Action research project carried out jointly by Department of Geology, DU and Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden. Project title: Sustainable Arsenic Mitigation (SAsMit) in Matlab Upazila of Chandpur District. Internship 1st September 2015 to 18th February 2016: Water Operators Partnership (WOP) between Vitens Evides International (VEI) and Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (DWASA). Research Project Director: Assessment of saline water intrusion and safe water options in Kuakata, Patuakhali District; funded by University of Barishal and UGCduring 2016-2017. Assessment of saline water intrusion in Barisal City Corporation, funded by University of Barishal and UGC during 2017-2018. Effects of climate change on coastal groundwater in Amtali Upazila, Barguna, Bangladesh; funded by University of Barishal and UGC from 2018 to till date.
