Short Biography:
Sanjoy Kumar Sarker (PHD) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Bengali at the University of Barishal, Bangladesh. He obtained his B.A. (Hons) and M.A. in Bengali from Jahangirnagar University. He was awarded a PhD for his extensive research on the representation of partition and communal relations in the novels of Atin Bandyopadhyay, a subject that remains a cornerstone of his academic expertise.
With over a decade of experience in higher education, Sarker is deeply committed to both teaching and scholarly inquiry. His current research interests extend beyond traditional boundaries, focusing on Ecocriticism, the philosophical depths of Rabindra Literature, and the modernist aesthetics in the works of Jibananda Das and Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay.
Beyond his academic role, Sarker is a distinguished author and translator. He has published several books encompassing poetry, short stories, children's literature, and critical essays. He is actively involved in translating contemporary world literature into Bengali, aiming to bridge global literary trends with the local cultural landscape. His multifaceted career reflects a harmonious blend of creative writing, academic rigor, and a passion for literary exploration.

Contribution to Society
1. Social & Cultural Leadership: I am the founder of 'Muktodhara', a community library in my birthplace Tarapur, Sundarganj, Gaibandha, which aims to promote reading habits and knowledge-sharing among rural people.
2. Environmental Activism: Through my organization 'Brikkhoshakha', I lead year-round afforestation programs focusing on native and rare tree species. Many of these planted trees have now matured, contributing significantly to local biodiversity.
3. Literary & Editorial Contribution: I serve as the Advisor for 'Suprokash Sahitya Sangsad (SUSAS)' in Sundarganj, Gaibandha. I am also the Editor of the literary magazine 'Bodhon', where I work to cultivate and promote contemporary Bengali literature and local creative voices.
4. Global-Local Literary Bridge: I actively contribute to the literary community by translating world literature (e.g., Iraqi-American poet Dunya Mikhail) into Bengali, making global poetic voices accessible to local readers.
