Economics Students Win 3rd Prize at National Cleantech Award
We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievement of our students, Jeba Tasnim and S. M. Shakaout Srabon, who secured 3rd Prize in the National Cleantech Award Ceremony & Innovation Showcase on Circular Entrepreneurship.Their innovative project was selected among 643 applications from across Bangladesh, with only 25 teams recognized after a rigorous evaluation process, including mentoring and an accelerator program. This achievement reflects their dedication, creativity, and commitment to developing impactful solutions in the field of cleantech and circular entrepreneurship.The award ceremony was organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in collaboration with the SME Foundation and the Department of Environment (DOE), Bangladesh. The Department of Economics proudly recognizes this accomplishment and encourages all students to explore opportunities beyond the classroom through research, innovation, competitions, volunteering, and leadership activities that contribute to meaningful social and environmental impact.
Back-to-Back Championship Achievement of the Economics Department Volleyball Team
The Department of Economics, University of Barishal, proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of its Volleyball Team, which secured the Inter-Department Volleyball Tournament titles in both 2025 and 2026. Champions of Hult Prize 2025–2026 Barishal University
Two students from the Department of Economics at the University of Barishal, S.M. Shakaout Srabon and Jeba Tasnim Karima, have secured the title of Hult Prize 2025–2026 Champions at Barishal University by presenting a forward-thinking and sustainable initiative. The Hult Prize is an international student entrepreneurship platform that inspires young innovators to create business solutions addressing global challenges in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With this achievement, the team has progressed to the National Round, representing Barishal University and building on their success at the university level. This accomplishment reflects the academic excellence and innovative spirit of the Department of Economics and stands as a source of pride for the University of Barishal.
