M.S., Department of Chemistry, University of Dhaka
Thesis Supervisor:1.Dr. Pradip Kumar Bakshi, Professor, Department of Chemistry, University of Dhaka.2.Jannatul Ferdous, Principal Scientific Officer, Health Physics Division, Atomic Energy Centre Dhaka. Thesis Title: "Chemical Separation and Radioactivity Measurement of Uranium in groundwater samples using Alpha and Gamma Spectrometric Method".
Uranium occurs in low concentrations in many natural water, sea water has an average uranium content of about 2 micrograms per liter and most fresh waters have concentrations below 10 micrograms per liter. Some groundwater sources have uranium concentrations as high as several milligrams per liter. The present investigation was initiated to establish the methodology, sensitivity, and accuracy with which the relative abundances of uranium-238 and uranium-234 can be determined in natural waters. The method is based on spectral analysis of the alpha particles and gamma emitted by uranium isolated from water sample.

B.S (Honors), Department of Chemistry, University of Dhaka
Project Supervisor: 1.Dr. Pradip Kumar Bakshi, Professor, Department of Chemistry, University of Dhaka.2. Humaira Yeasmin, Lecturer, Department of Chemistry, University of Dhaka. Project Title: "Synthesis and Physico-Chemical Characterization of Omeprazole Compounds of Cobalt (II), Nickel (II), Copper (II)".
The complexes of Ni (II), Cu (II), Co (II) with Omeprazole have been synthesized and characterized by a combination of metal contents estimation, IR, uv-vis spectal data, thermo gravimetric analysis (QSTGA, TGA, DSC) and magnetic susceptibility measurement. Based on the analysis the structural formula of the complexes were established.
