MS in Physics
The Master of Science (M.S.) in Physics at the Department of Physics, University of Barishal, is an advanced graduate program designed to provide a deep understanding of theoretical, experimental, and applied physics. The program is offered in two groups: the General Group and the Thesis Group, with a total credit requirement of 34 credits. The General Group is completed in one year, while the Thesis Group is completed in one and a half years.The curriculum encompasses six core theoretical courses that provide comprehensive knowledge of modern physics topics, including quantum mechanics, condensed matter physics, nuclear physics, biophysics, nanomaterials, and computational physics, among others. The program also integrates laboratory work, thesis research, and viva-voce examinations to ensure students acquire practical, analytical, and research-oriented skills. Thesis group students are additionally required to conduct independent research culminating in a thesis and defense, promoting hands-on experience in scientific inquiry and innovation.The M.S. program emphasizes research excellence, critical thinking, and advanced problem-solving skills. Students are trained to apply physics principles to solve complex scientific and technological problems, communicate scientific results effectively, and work collaboratively in research teams. BS (Hons) in Physics
The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Physics (Honors) is a comprehensive four-year undergraduate program offered by the Department of Physics, University of Barishal. The program is structured over eight semesters, with each semester spanning six months. It is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in both theoretical and experimental physics, equipping them with the necessary skills to analyze, interpret, and solve complex physical problems. The curriculum integrates fundamental physics concepts, advanced mathematical techniques, laboratory practices, computational methods, and research-based learning to foster intellectual growth, creativity, and scientific reasoning.The program follows a credit-based system, requiring students to complete 147 credits to earn the degree. Each semester includes a balanced combination of core courses, practical sessions, and elective modules that enhance disciplinary knowledge and technical proficiency. Through this program, students gain hands-on experience in modern experimental techniques, data analysis, and the use of computational tools, preparing them for careers in research, industry, and higher education. Professional MBA (EMBA)
This program is designed to facilitate the learners who are enthusiastic to attaain a professional dergee in Fianace and Banking. The program of the degree shall be divided into three semesters and duration of each semester shall be 6 months. The Department shall offer Project / Internship option for students at the end of the last semester.

MBA
The program of the degree shall be divided into two semesters and duration of each semester shall be 6 months. The Department shall offer both thesis and non-thesis options for MBA students. At the end of 2nd semester, students pursuing thesis program shall get six months more to complete the thesis and non-thesis program students shall get three months more to complete the Internship or Project. Thus, the duration of non-thesis MBA program shall be 15 months whereas the duration of thesis MBA program shall be 18 months.

Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Philosophy
Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Philosophy is designated as an Undergraduate program. Eligibility for admission to the Undergraduate Program is open to students who have successfully passed the SSC and HSC examinations (after 12 years of schooling) or examinations equivalent to HSC of Bangladesh Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education, with the require GPA. Admission is highly competitive, and the University Admission Committee establishes a standard of academic attainment at the HSC and HSC levels each year. Selection for admission is based on merit through admission tests.

BBA
Students from all disciplines are eligible to be admitted into the BBA (Honors) program. The duration of BBA (Honors) program is four years divided into eight semesters. A total of 136 credit hours have to be completed by the students in forty (42) taught courses, eight (8) viva-voce examinations and an internship program.
